Atmospheric air dispersion modelling

Radio-active gases and particles are released from various sources e.g. tailings storage facilities, contaminated sites and underground ventilation shafts. The atmospheric dispersion of the airborne pollutants is evaluated through Atmospheric Air Dispersion Modelling, using the emission rates and meteorological data as input. PARC Scientific has very specific modelling experience in the dispersion of radon and radioactive dust where detailed representation of the source geometries is important.

PARC Scientific also employs radioactive decay algorithms to model levels of thoron, the short-lived radon isotope prevalent in the mineral sands industry. Internationally recognised commercial modelling software is used to account for the long-term impact of these pollutants. Results are presented as a full dose report.
